The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards are almost here, and viewers are eagerly awaiting the experience. The program gets installed in UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on Sunday, September 7, with this year hosted by the legendary LL Cool J. With live coverage on CBS and MTV, and streaming on Paramount+, the evening will be one of surprises, energy, and moments that won’t soon be forgotten.
Sabrina Carpenter is back, and the fans are loving it. Carpenter’s received eight nominations, including Video of the Year, for her first-year out last year. She’s playing hits off her new album Man’s Best Friend, out August 29. Expect a mix of catchy pop hooks and intense moments that show how far she’s grown as an artist.
Latin music icon Ricky Martin will headline and receive the first Latin Icon Award. With four decades of establishing Latin pop, Martin’s performance is a testament to how music can bridge borders and bring people together.
Hip-hop fans are in for a treat as well. Busta Rhymes will be performing and accepting the Rock the Bells Visionary Award for his contributions to hip-hop. It’s an act that will be both nostalgic and high-energy.
And that’s just the beginning—J Balvin will also premiere his new track Noventa, with DJ Snake, Justin Quiles, and Lenny TavĂ¡rez. Emerging star Sombr and singer-songwriter Alex Warren, who last topped Billboard’s Hot 100 with Ordinary, will share the stage for the first time.
From veteran legends to hot new talent, the 2025 VMAs are going to be an evening packed with music, energy, and unforgettable moments. It’s a testament to why MTV’s biggest night of the year is always the stuff of conversations—and dancing floors—long after the last performance.
